DC: September WordPress Meetup - Managing WP Clients & Projects

Details

September’s theme is project and client management. Ryan will lead a walkthrough of how he uses Asana as a project management and communication hub, to document and plan all aspects along the lifecycle of a website. Free templates and resources will be shared to help you get started tracking the milestones of a web launch, ongoing content editorial calendar, and documentation for ongoing site maintenance. While the focus is on client projects, the concepts and tools can be applied to a wide variety of use cases, both for team collaboration and solo projects.

Ryan King is the Digital Experience Designer at the Smithsonian’s Freer|Sackler Museums of Asian Art. An open source evangelist, he joined the Smithsonian as a graduate of the Corcoran College of Art + Design’s Exhibition Design M.A. program with a vision of fusing technology with the built museum environment. He was a Windgate Curatorial Fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon, a fellow in the Getty NextGen Leadership Institute, and served as social media consultant at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art before joining the Freer|Sackler. In addition to his daily coding and design work, Ryan is Co-Chair of the Smithsonian Pride Alliance (LGBTQ) Employee Group, marketing Co-Chair of the AAM LGBTQ Alliance, a member of the MCN DEAI advisory board, and a member of the GW Corcoran Alumni advisory board. Art, food, thirsty plants, and lingering oxford commas keep him busy. You can find him on Twitter at @ryancanhelpyou.

As always, food and drink will be sponsored by U.Group (formerly known as CHIEF). See their website at https://u.group/

We rely on accurate RSVP counts to estimate how much food and drink to purchase for the event. If you realize you can't make it, please update your RSVP as soon as possible.

Please make a good faith effort to arrive at the meetup before 7 PM. The doors to the building lock after 7 PM and you may need to wait outside for a time to be escorted up to U.Group's DuPont Circle office.
