BuddyPress 2.0 is the latest and greatest version of the popular WordPress social networking plugin. BuddyPress Lead Developer Boone Gorges will show off cool new features in BP 2.0, including new community administration tools, enhancements to the flexibility of the activity stream, and massive performance improvements.

OPENING PRESENTATION: An introduction to AppPresser

Many people associate WordPress with being just a blogging platform and/or a content management system but WordPress is powerful enough and flexible enough to run any type of web application and even mobile applications. In this session, you will be introduced to AppPresser, a plugin that allows you to build hybrid mobile applications with WordPress without spending an arm and a leg.

Boone Gorges (http://boone.gorg.es/) is an independent software consultant, specializing in BuddyPress and custom plugin development. He is a lead developer for BuddyPress, and an author of dozens of publicly available WordPress plugins. His clients are mostly colleges and universities - recent examples include the City University of New York, Harvard Law School, and George Mason University.

Brian Messenlehner (http://twitter.com/bmess) is the co-founder of WebDevStudios (http://webdevstudios.com/), a web development company that specializes in building all things WordPress. He is also the co-founder of AppPresser.com, a WordPress based framework for building mobile apps. Brian loves WordPress in his spare time! He is the co-author of the book "Building Web Apps with WordPress” by O’Reilly Media, is the organizer of the New Jersey WordPress Meetup Group
