WordSmitten Writing Workshop :: Saturday 2 PM - Advanced Class
What: The WordSmitten Writing Workshop Series When: The Third Saturday of the Month from 2 PM to 5 PM. Why Attend: Open to advanced writers who are working on fiction (a novel or short story collection) or nonfiction (personal memoir, how-to, history, biography). This writing workshop is for those who are interested in learning how to approach literary agents with a professional query letter, to revise their manuscripts, to form critique groups and "workshop" their stories. Who: Instructor for is Kate Sullivan, the executive editor of WordSmitten Media ( and the producer/host of the popular radio broadcast "About the Books (" that airs on AM Radio and NPR's affiliate stations in Florida (88.9 WFSU). WordSmitten Writers Workshop

Meet working authors and journalists in a relaxed atmosphere to brainstorm about "the book biz" and form productive critique groups. Come to a WordSmitten Writers Workshop to review work, trade literary tips, make friends and have fun with professional and dedicated fiction and non-fiction writers.

Recent guests include Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Elizabeth Strout (Olive Kitteridge) and Edward P. Jones (The Known World). Listen to writing tips from Sara Nelson, former editor-in-chief of Publishers Weekly.

All writers and should-be writers are welcome. To join, there is a short review process and you'll be assigned to one of the workshops. Please submit five pages of your current work for the group to review.
