What we’re about
The intent of this group is to help screenwriters in and around Victoria to meet and build community.
Outside of Canada's industry hubs, resources and networking opportunities for screenwriters can be hard to find. Let's meet, share experiences, and find out if there are ways to support one another.
This group is for screenwriters for film and television who've had some to lots of experience in the industry; and, if you're planning to become a screenwriter and are curious about people's experiences, please join us.

GAME NIGHT FOR SCREENWRITERS & Other Announcements!
Interactivity Board Game Cafe, 723 Yates St, Victoria, BC V8W 1L4, Victoria, BC, CAHELLO SCREENWRITERS!
**The first issue of the ISLAND VIDEO VILLAGE newsletter is out! CLICK HERE to subscribe.**
It's time to mingle, get to know each other, and have fun! Join your fellow screenwriters (working & aspiring) for a night of TABLE TOP GAMING.
Success in this business almost ALWAYS comes through relationships, and often the best opportunities come from -- or are seeded by -- peers. So, here is an opportunity to meet your peers, and get in the trenches with them in the battlefield of a game or two.
Who's your host?
Tristin Morton (she/her) is a professional writer and script consultant for television and film who's worked in the film and television industry for fifteen years. If you'd like to know more visit: www.tristinmorton.com.
She's relocated to the unceded territory of the Lekwungen people (aka Victoria) and is excited to bring the screenwriters (established and aspiring) on Vancouver Island together. Many of her achievements as a writer have come through connections she formed with peers and mentors throughout her career and she'd like to be a part of creating new and innovative networks here.

These are inclusive events. Those who are part of or allied with the BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and PWD communities are welcome. Perfection is not expected, but respect and an openness to learn is.
For those seeking safety and accessibility, if you have concerns or want to make your host aware of how to make the event more accessible, PLEASE REACH OUT.
This meetup will be taking place on the unceded traditional territory of the Lekwungen peoples. We acknowledge with respect the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. We are so grateful to be able to work and play on this land and we encourage all of our members to engage in the work of reconciliation and decolonization.
