Hey Screenwriters! Let's meet up, then shut up and write.

We will meet in the Atrium right next to Habit Coffee on Yates, do some quick introductions, then put our heads down to work on our own projects.

Inspired by the wonderful group Shut Up & Write Victoria https://www.meetup.com/shutupandwritevictoria/?eventOrigin=home_groups_you_are_in

Are you a working or aspiring screenwriter living in Victoria? Does it feel like you're the only one here? Let's show up at the same time and place and prove that's not true.
Writing can be an isolating activity, so, if you're interested in community and want to learn what your fellow craftspeople are up to, join us.

Who's your host?

Tristin Morton (she/her) is a professional writer and script consultant for television and film who's worked in the film and television industry for fifteen years. If you'd like to know more visit: www.tristinmorton.com.
She's relocated to the unceded territory of the Lekwungen people (aka Victoria) and is excited to bring the screenwriters (established and aspiring) on Vancouver Island together. Many of her achievements as a writer have come through connections she formed with peers and mentors throughout her career and she'd like to be a part of creating new and innovative networks here.

These are inclusive events. Those who are part of or allied with the BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and PWD communities are welcome. Perfection is not expected, but respect and an openness to learn is.
For those seeking safety and accessibility, if you have concerns or want to make your host aware of how to make the event more accessible, PLEASE REACH OUT.

This meetup will be taking place on the unceded traditional territory of the Lekwungen peoples. We acknowledge with respect the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. We are so grateful to be able to work and play on this land and we encourage all of our members to engage in the work of reconciliation and decolonization.
