What we’re about
The exponential growth of digital data profoundly affects the ways companies and other organizations are governed and managed. In this respect, the digitalization of the world in and around any organization gives an entirely new meaning to the traditional rhetorics on 'control', 'accountability', 'transparency', and 'leadership'.
In this workshop, we explore the need for more professional management systems, especially those that distribute leadership and control throughout the organization. The workshop will focus on the so-called sociocratic approach, also known as circular management (developed by the Dutch engineer and entrepreneur Gerard Endenburg), which has recently been re-packaged as “holacracy” by the American software engineer/entrepreneur Brian Robertson. Fabrique, an award-winning design agency with offices in Amsterdam, Delft and Rotterdam, is an excellent example of how circular management can be applied; Fabrique has pioneered the introduction of agile methods and practices in the Dutch design sector.
