Family-style Cuban / Latino feast in Forest Hills
Details
Let's have some moderately upscale Cuban & Latin cuisine in the heart of Forest Hills. I will choose a variety of dishes for the whole table to share, and we'll split the food bill evenly. Expect around $40-45/pp for food, tax & tip. Any drinks will be billed separately.
Some likely menu items, depending on the number of attendees:
Bocadillos - mixed hot appetizers: shrimp fritters, vegetable fritters, chicken wings & empanadas
EITHER Cabana salad (hearts of palm, queso blanco, tomatoes, red onions, garbanzos, olives, & black bean vinaigrette over greens) OR Tropicana salad (marinated grilled chicken breast & tropical fruits w/guava mojo over greens)
Picadillo - ground beef w/veggies & olives over rice & black beans
Coco Cabana Vegetales or Pollo - mixed vegetables w/coconut milk & habanero curry & rice, or same w/chicken
Churrasco - grilled marinated skirt steak w/black beans & rice

If we have room for dessert afterwards (Cabana's portions tend to be generous) then Martha's Country Bakery has a branch very close by.
Please be considerate with your RSVP and change to No promptly if not coming. No-shows can get you removed from the group. Also, please bring cash and some small bills; makes everyone's lives easier.
Transit: Take the E, F, M, or R to 71st St / Continental Ave, walk about a block. LIRR also goes right there.
