Somali family-style feast in Harlem
Details
I've never tried Somali food, so let's go check out their meaty stews and rice and breads and sambusas together in what seems to be the first Somali restaurant in NYC. Guessing not more than $35/pp w/tax & tip.
Some likely menu choices:
Beef sambusas (turnovers)
Vegetarian sambusas
Chicken Suqaar
Mango Curry Veggie
Busketti - thinly sliced flank steak marinated in house garlic & ginger sauce
Chicken Fantastic - basil and rosemary sauce with julienne vegetables served with pasta
Lamb shank
Fresh fish catch of the day w/homemade lime zest sauce, bizbaz rub, & pasta saldata

**NOTE: We have a reservation at a table with chairs. They also have floor seating on a padded mat with colorful cushions. Please indicate if you might be willing for floor seating, and I can request it if people agree.**
Please be considerate with your RSVP and change to No promptly if not coming, so as not to inconvenience this small restaurant or other diners. No-shows can get you kicked out of the group. Also, please bring cash and some small bill; makes everyone's lives easier.
Transit: 2 or 3 train to 110th St is closest, three short blocks up St Nicholas Ave. The A, B, & C trains to Cathedral Parkway /110th St also come pretty close.
Who's in?
(And yes, I know it's Election Day. This seems like more fun than sitting at home obsessively hunting for early tea leaves about the results.)
