Berlin’s Museum Island (**Museumsinsel**) is definitely a must-see of the German capital. Located **in the middle of Berlin** on the Spree river, the museum complex was included into the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999 and is **one of the top museums in Europe**.Olga will take you on the live tour of the Museumsinsel to marvel at **the grand exteriors of its five museums**. Built from 1830 to 1930, the **Altes museum,** the **Neues Museum**, the **Bode-Museum**, the **Alte Nationalgalerie** and the **Pergamonmuseum** feature outstanding **collections** of art, sculpture and architecture, **including the unique Ishta Gate of Babylon and the renowned bust of Queen Nefertiti.**You’ll walk down **the so-called****Archeological promenade** and uncover the history of this fascinating sight. How did the bust of Nefertiti find its way to Berlin? Did the museum complex survive the city bombings of the WW2? Was it included into East or West Berlin? What is Berlin’s largest church? From the Museuminsel you’ll continue the live tour to **Hackescher Markt**, the most happening part of Berlin’s city center to get a feel for life in Mitte (Middle).
