How did **Mesopotamia’s****last**, and most luxurious, **empire** conquer vast territory and then fall apart? This tour follows **in the footsteps of biblical King Nebuchadnezzar II,** whose reign marked the peak of the Neo-Babylonian Empire. We discover **the engineering marvels of Babylon**, including the legendary **Hanging Gardens**, one of the **Seven Wonders of the Ancient World**, and trace the expansion of the empire, including **the destruction of Jerusalem described in the Bible.** Thereafter, we will see **how the empire declined** before falling victim to the empire-building goals of another ruler, King Cyrus II of Persia.
