Looking for a relaxed weekend vibe and a chance to meet open-minded, international people in London? Whether you’re new to the city or just want great conversation over coffee, our café social is the perfect way to ease into your Saturday.

✨ What to Expect:
• A welcoming table or 2 at a cosy café.
• Mostly age 20s to 30s young professionals, grad students, creatives, internationals.
• Low-pressure, real conversations and occasional hosted discussions - no awkward silence.
• Afterwards: option for a relaxed open tour or walk in the area after the cafe!

🕑 Time & Place:
Arrive anytime between 2:00–4:00 PM
We meet in a café usually somewhere between South Kensington, Gloucester Road or Sloane Square stations (or more broadly in West London - location for each week updated on the Meetup page here).
Just grab your own drink/snack—there’s no event fee.

🌍 Who It’s For:
• 20s & 30s: young professionals, grad students, creatives, internationals
• People who enjoy meaningful chats more than loud bars
• Solo newcomers, returning members, and plus-ones are all welcome

Our café socials are part of the World Citizens community—a non-commercial, volunteer-run group for those who value openness, culture, and real connection. Many regulars first meet here before joining our Friday Socials and other bigger events!

We typically host 50–80 people each week, and many attendees return regularly!

🎟 How to Join – Entry by Free Lottery
To ensure a safe, inclusive and diverse space, attendance is limited and managed through a free lottery system. This helps us keep a great group dynamic and prevent overcrowding.
👉 Click here to enter the ticket lottery via Eventbrite (or go to https://worldcitizenfridays.eventbrite.co.uk/). Winners will receive the exact location by email a few hours before the event.
⏰ Timing: Arrive anytime from 7:00 PM. Most people stay until 11PM (or head to the after-party!).
📍 Location: A beautiful pub in West End (few mins walk from Embankment, Leicester Square, Covent Garden). Exact address is shared with lottery winners only.

Meet people from around the world in a conversation-friendly space. We mix informal socializing with a few structured activities so you feel safe, relaxed and make new friends!

What is World Citizens? London's community for new-in-town, expats, travellers and third culture kids who want to meet in a safe, culturally enriching and thought-provoking space.

How to participate? You must enter our ticket lottery at https://worldcitizenfridays.eventbrite.co.uk! If you're picked, you will receive an invitation email with the secret venue address sometime on Thursday or Friday!

The secret venue address changes every week, but is usually somewhere in the City of London square mile area, between London Bridge, Tower Hill and Liverpool Street. To receive the full secret venue address you must register via Eventbrite lottery. There is no other way. If you received the full secret venue address, please do not share it with anyone!

Why the lottery and secret venue? We balance quantity and quality, newcomers and regulars, and give everyone a chance to experience safe, diverse and culturally enriching events. Expect less attendees than the number of RSVP, but more quality time connecting with people in a meaningful way!

What we expect from you:

1. To be respectful and courteous with everyone.
2. To be present so that others feel listened to.
3. To be mindful of people’s personal space.

These events are for everyone to feel safe, welcome and comfortable; where everyone can be heard; where everyone can maintain boundaries with harmony. Thank you for your cooperation!

We put women first: Over 80% of women in the UK say that nightlife is unsafe (YouGov Oct 2021 poll) because of predator men and alcohol/substance abuse. We want to completely change that: World Citizens proactively designs event systems for everyone to enjoy a safe and pleasant evening.
