π²πΈ Easter Monday Thames Walk: Hampton to Richmond + Picnic π»π ~8 miles
Details
Join our social walk along one of the most beautiful parts of the Thames and meet open-minded, international friends in their 20s to 30s! Whether youβre new to the city or just want great conversation, World Citizens is the perfect way to ease in and make new friends. After the walk, we'll do a little picnic to celebrate Easter Monday, and perhaps explore a few pubs for some extra drinks... or eggs? π°
β¨ What to Expect:
β’ A sociable 2-3 hour walk along the beautiful Thames.
β’ Meet young Londoners aged 20s to 30s, incl. students, creatives, internationals.
β’ Low-pressure, real conversations and occasional hosted discussions - no awkward silence.
π Travel & meeting points:
- Trains: you can get from Waterloo Station to Hampton Court Station in 30 min (Zone 6 on Contactless/Oyster Card). The return journey will be from Richmond (Zone 4 on Contactless/Oyster Card).
- Walk starts at 12:45 PM (we'll wait max 15 mins)! We'll meet outside Hampton Court Landing Stage on the map for start of walk. This is the place where boats arrive in Hampton. We will leave punctually and cannot check comments after the walk has started.
- Around 3:30/4:00 PM: arrive in Richmond and get a picnic spot.
- Later in the evening: explore the area, drinks and/or dinner later on!
π Important details, safety, comfort & responsibility:
- The walk is approx 8 miles (12.8km) in total, which will take 2 to 3 hours depending on the speed of the group and any breaks we take.
- It's very easy terrain like anywhere along the Thames path, but you should feel healthy and comfortable enough to walk for 3 hours. We will have a few breaks but there aren't many exit points.
- Please bring water, snacks and comfortable walking shoes.
- This is not a professional guided walk but experienced members going together on a very easy walk; you join at your own risk (read full disclaimer below).
πΊ The event is 100% free - just get your own train tickets and bring enough drinks and snacks to keep you going!
π Who Itβs For:
β’ 20s & 30s young professionals, grad students or recent graduates, creatives, internationals
β’ Solo newcomers, returning members, and plus-ones are all welcome
We always encourage diverse, inclusive and equal representation at our events β€οΈ
