Comments
Fryingpan Trail is a gravel road, uphill all the way, but not too steep. At the top is a 70-foot-tall historic fire lookout tower with panoramic views in all directions. Even though the hike isn't difficult, the only way to see the views on this hike is by climbing at least partway up the tower. The higher you go, the better the views!

The Pisgah Trailhead is to the summit of Mount Pisgah which features some steep and rocky sections. The trail meanders through a rich northern oak forest with a diverse variety of plants. At the top, there are views over to the Shining Rock Wilderness, French Broad River Valley, and on a clear day, all the way to Asheville.
