Time: 9:00 AM
General Location: Bearwallow Mountain Parking Area in Gerton
Parking URL: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hb5S9ReMLrkNq4BU9
Parking Address: 4854 Bearwallow Mountain Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792
Parking Notes: Trombatore Trail shares the same parking area as Bearwallow Mountain Trail. The trailheads are right across the street from each other. Roadside parking on Bearwallow Mountain Road. Coming from Asheville you'd typically take Hwy 74A to Gerton and Bearwallow Mountain Road (1 mile past the Strawberry Gap trailhead), but that road is closed since Helene. This means you'll have to go through Hooper's Creek and up the other side, so make sure your GPS is taking you that way and allow a little extra time. If you're coming from Arden or South Asheville, you'll go the way you'd normally go, since you wouldn't go through Gerton anyway.
Miles from Downtown Asheville: 19
Total Length: 5 miles
Trail Type: Out and Back
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Elevation Gain: 1220

Comments
We've previously hiked Strawberry Gap to Blue Ridge Pastures, and we've hiked up Bearwallow Mountain Trail to the top. Trombatore connects these two trails. Unlike Strawberry Gap, dogs ARE allowed on Trombatore.
