Join us for one of my favourite hikes in the South East... Glynde to Seaford! It has something for everyone - South Downs Way, woodland, a river walk, and a view of the Seven Sisters once we're near the end of the day, finishing up with a seaside walk at the end.

Heading out of Glynde, we initially walk through farmland before climbing up onto the South Downs Way. From there we can enjoy views of the surrounding countryside all around for several miles, until we drop down into the pretty town of Alfriston.

We'll then walk out of town along the river, climbing up and down hills and through forest land and down to the estuary at Cuckmere Haven. From there it is a walk up and over the cliff to Seaford. If the weather is kind to us, we should have a great view of the Seven Sisters.

This walk is approximately 14 miles long and on rough tracks with some hills along the way. There is the possibility of taking a bus from Alfriston to Seaford for those that want a shorter walk. We will need to keep up a moderate pace throughout the walk to ensure we complete it in a reasonable time.

Fee: £5 payable on booking (fee is to cover the organiser’s expenses only (e.g. insurance, certifications, Meetup fees).

Bring: Packed lunch and plenty of water. You’ll want warm layers and waterproofs just in case, as well as sun screen and a hat if it is nice weather (you never know!).
