We're excited to announce our second talk of 2026!

Introduction to Digital Sustainability
The environmental impact of big tech and AI have become hot topics. Green Software Brighton’s organisers will touch on these issues, while introducing core concepts of digital sustainability and the ways digital products can affect our environment. They’ll also provide tips to make positive changes in your work as a tech professional and explain why building green software creates benefits for all. To top it off, they’ll explore the community groups in the region who are collaborating around this cause.

About the speakers

Fiona MacNeill - Director - Macknowlogist
Fiona MacNeill is a researcher, designer, technologist, and the founder of Macknowlogist, a tech consultancy specialising in strategic design for learning and sustainable change. Fiona is a steward for LTUX Brighton, and also co-organises the Green Software Brighton and the Learning Futures meetups.

Mark Buss - Digital Sustainability Manager - OVO
Mark oversees digital sustainability for OVO, a UK energy company. He spends his days measuring the carbon emissions of digital products and educating teams on green software practices. Mark also co-organises the Green Software Brighton meetup
