April: WordPress as a headless CMS with Laravel

Details

This month we are welcoming Chris Brosnan. They will be giving a talk titled:

🎤 WordPress as a headless CMS with Laravel

This talk will focus on using WordPress as a headless CMS, with the WP REST API, for improved performance or in projects where the product itself is not best suited to WordPress but where as a headless CMS there can be some benefits in using WordPress alongside another frameworks, specifically Laravel in this case. The case study will focus on a Laravel built professional networking platform with WordPress being used as a user friendly CMS for the blog element of the site while not being used to serve the site on the front end.

👤 Chris Brosnan is the Senior Full Stack Developer at Ayre Media, a digital agency providing development and marketing services to the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. He is a self-taught developer with seven years of professional experience and a particular interest in WordPress and PHP development. Chris has shared his passion for both in different industries including the charity sector, travel, financial software and property. When not coding, Chris enjoys films, books, board games, podcasts and football. He is also a part-time postgraduate student at Birkbeck College.

After the talk, we'll open the floor to the group.

See you all on Tuesday!
