  • Join us for our last meetup of 2016 at our informal WordPress meet up at the fantastic Campus North building in Newcastle upon Tyne.

17:45: If you're new then pop along 15 minutes before the events starts to introduce yourself!

18:00: Introduction, informal chat, with beers and soft drinks thanks to Campus North <3.

18:20: WordPress Starter Themes, Lee Bolton

WordPress Starter Themes can help cut a lot of unnecessary and repetitive development time off projects. In this talk I’ll use the example of the TAC Starter Theme to explain what a starter theme should and should not contain, how it can help your development workflow and how you can get started with your own starter theme.

    About Lee

Director at TAC Design and Front End Developer. I’ve been working with WordPress for over 6 years, first as a freelancer and more recently in an agency environment. At TAC we predominantly work with clients in the entertainment, music and cultural sectors, using WordPress in the majority of our development work.

18:50: Schema.org : Structured data FTW, Lee Willis

This talk will talk about structured data standards. We'll talk about:

    • what they are

    • why you should care

    • implementing structured data

    About Lee

Lee's first open source contribution was in Lisp in 1998. Since then he's worked as a PHP developer, business analyst, project manager and Drupal developer. Today, Lee is a freelance software developer who works predominantly with WordPress & Laravel.

19:30: Social! Why not join us for a drink after the event too!

And thanks, as ever, to our sponsors, Campus North for the venue.
