WordPress Meetup: Gutenberg

Please note that the December meetup will be on a Tuesday instead of the normal first Wednesday of the month because you may have other plans on the eve of Finland's Independence Day.

The WordPress Helsinki meetup group aims to bring people of all skill levels together, from beginners to WordPress professionals. WordPress Helsinki is purely organised by community volunteers, and operates under the WordPress code of conduct.

This month Sami Keijonen will give a talk on how to get your theme ready for Gutenberg, which will be the new default editor in WordPress 5.0.

The talk will cover:

• how to add support for colour palette, font sizes, and align wide blocks
• how to set editor styles for maximum WYSIWYG experience
• how to organise styles for Core and custom blocks
• etc.

While this session is mainly aimed at developers, you’re more than welcome join us for drinks later at Teerenpeli in Kamppi after the talk if you just want sit down and chat with others from the local community.
