Mike Schroder is a cross-cultural kid, a coffee enthusiast and a dedicated supporter of Open Source technology based out of Japan. As a full-time Core Contributor sponsored by GoDaddy, they are a WordPress Committer, a Media Component Maintainer, a Hosting Team Representative and a previous WordPress Release Lead.

The evening will kick off with an interview with Mike; tapping into the experience of contributing to WordPress Core while painting a picture of the WordPress internal ecosystem. From there the conversation will be opened up to the group for questions. This is an AMA, which stands for 'Ask Me Anything'... and means exactly that. Get all your questions about WordPress Contribution answered by a pro!

---- Who should come to this event?
Anyone who is interested in WordPress, just starting out with their WordPress site or experienced WordPress users and developers. This meetup is open to everyone and anyone who is interested in working with WordPress the Content Management System for building and maintaining websites. No experience is required. Topics vary every month.

-- Is this a place to promote my services and products I sell?
No. There are networking groups specifically for that. We're not one of them.

-- Can I talk about my business and things I sell?
Sure, we want to help you with your WordPress site, but DON'T sell your products to the Meetup Group. There are other communities for that sort of stuff and it's not welcome here.

-- Is there a cover charge?
Absolutely Not! Our sponsor, GreenGeeks, has put up the funds so you don't have to. The only thing we ask is that you participate and be welcoming toward one another. This is a safe meetup to learn from one another.

-- Will there be food and/or drink?
Because this event is online only, there will be no food or drinks this time. What there WILL be is FUN, connectedness and the sharing of information and ideas!

-- How often do you meet?
WPLA [West LA] usually meets every Third Thursday of the month excluding July. However, with the current world events, our schedule has become irregular. In the coming months we'll re-establish a regular schedule, with potentially more frequent meetups!
