Scaling servlet containers that back REST APIs is hard. Jakub will explore the options for scaling REST APIs to large amounts of concurrent requests. He’ll unveil how Virtual threads can fit into this space, diving into the implementation of virtual threads to better understand the potential benefits and pitfalls of their current JVM implementation. He will discuss where to use virtual threads and where to avoid them. Finally, he'll conclude with future developments in this space.

3️⃣ Karel Hajek, Engineering Manager at Tricentis: Building Trust in Distributed Systems

Securing service-to-service communication is essential in modern cloud-native environments. Karel will walk through the basics of SPIFFE and SPIRE and how they help manage secure service identities in distributed systems. He’ll cover key concepts, early observations, and potential use cases we’ve encountered so far.
