Happy New Year!

Let's chat about your holiday writing progress and start the year off right by setting some new writing goals for 2026. For our next meeting, select 1-2 focus areas from the list below to discuss, as it relates to your work in progress (WIP).

1. Clarify & Focus

• What is the single most important problem you need to solve in your WIP right now?
• If you could only make progress on one thing this month, what should it be—and why?

2. Character & Story Stakes

• What choice does your protagonist need to make next that you’ve been avoiding writing?
• What’s currently at risk for your main character—and is it big enough?

3. Resistance & Blocks

• What part of your project are you most resistant to working on, and what’s underneath that resistance?
• What excuse has been slowing your progress—and how will you counter it this month?

4. Momentum & Discipline

• What concrete action will move your project forward in the next 30 days (pages, scenes, revisions)?
• What does a “successful writing month” look like in measurable terms?

5. Alignment & Purpose

• Why does this project matter to you right now?
• What would finishing this draft make possible for you as a writer?

We will not be writing during this meeting. Instead, we’ll focus on sharing WIP updates and motivating each other to push our projects into their next phase.

You'll leave the meeting with one specific, achievable goal for the next month.
