Hello writers (and those too worried to call themselves writers).
Do you want to write the thing? Great! Me too – let’s do it.
The intention behind the group is to create a supportive environment to keep going with your writing. All genres welcome. All peoples welcome.
We meet every second Wednesday of the month to write in each other's company. After that, people can choose to read their work to the group for feedback (there’s even a stage. Don’t worry, it’s barely a step, and I’m likely to be first one to trip up it – it’ll be fine) There’s no pressure to use the stage or to share your work.
When we wrap up (around 9pm), we’ll vote on the best piece of the night and a lucky door prize will be drawn – both are awarded a $25 voucher to the Garden Lounge Creative Space in Newtown. You are welcome to stay on to mingle.
The Louis Hotel is wheelchair friendly and is close to Petersham railway station and Taverners Hill light rail. I ask that you support the venue by purchasing food/drink.
If you’re feeling a bit of a wallflower, don’t worry, come plant yourself down and watch until you feel like joining in.
Am I a good writer? Well, that’s subjective. But fact is, the more I write, the better I get – so write on!
