It's time to reconnect with other documentarians! Join us for a focused and friendly conversation about managing tech docs projects:
Before a technical writer can even begin to gather information, they need to have a plan. We talk quite a bit about information architecture and content planning, but what about the bigger, process-focused picture? At our next Focused Discussion, we'll share our collective knowledge about project management for technical writing.
- In your roles, what's been your relationship to project management? How much of it is your responsibility, and how much falls to your manager and/or a separate Project Management role?
- How have you learned project management skills? What resources were most useful for you?
- What strategies have you used? Which were most effective?
- Have you ever had a major project management failure? What did you learn from that experience?
- What have you found most challenging about managing documentation projects?
Bring your thoughts and questions, and attend for as long as your schedule allows. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to support and network with each other.
The discussion will be held via Zoom, and the link will be posted on the Meetup event by the previous evening. To attend, please RSVP to the Meetup event.
