Morning social: chat about job searches

It's time to reconnect with other documentarians over a beverage of your choice!
Join us for a focused and friendly conversation. Attend for as long as your schedule allows. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to support and network with each other.

On November 8, we'll talk about job searches:

• What advice would you offer to someone looking for a job in technical writing?
• What career resources, tools, and techniques do you rely on?
• What lessons have you learned during your own job searches? Any dos or don'ts to share?
• What surprised you the most about job searching in the tech writing field?
• How do you decide between permanent placement versus contract or freelance work?
• Any funny, wacky, or encouraging job search stories to make a weary job searcher smile?
• What questions do you have?

During the session, we’ll invite people who are looking for jobs to share links to portfolios and contact information, and we’ll invite people who are hiring to share job postings.
