Show, don't (just) tell!

Abstract
Do you have a portfolio? What does it tell me about you? How often are you keeping it updated? Is it just a collection of your samples, or is it telling your story?
If you cannot sell yourself or your skills convincingly and coherently, chances are that someone with less experience but with an impressive portfolio is getting that gig you are going for. For years, I've relied on various methods to showcase my samples, my work and its relevance to an organisation (because, far too often, technical writers are just thought of as scribes!).
My most recent effort is an online portfolio that showcases not only my previous skills and writing experience, but who I am as a person, and what value I bring to your projects.
