A peer to peer meet-up for documentarians. If you care about helping your readers have an awesome experience reading documentation, this meetup is for you. If you want to meet with other people that have chosen this path in the London area, to share war stories or to get inspired, come and join us on one of our meetups.
This meetup is supported by the global Write the Docs community.
Write the Docs is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks. We try to record and then publish the presentations/talks so those unable to attend can also benefit. We may also take photos during the event, please take note that by attending you agree to this.

Write the Docs come to GDS! Join us for a special show & tell with technical writers from Government Digital Service (GDS) as they share how they write for user needs.
They’ll talk about user-centered design in GDS, their documentation processes, and how GDS technical writers apply the Government Design Principles. They’ll also show practical examples of how they’ve created documentation rooted in user needs, including when things don’t go according to plan.
This session will focus on technical documentation for government services, such as GOV.UK One Login, GOV.UK Pay, and GOV.UK Wallet.🎟️ Registration for this event closes on Monday, 16 June.

The entrance to the building is on Whitechapel High Street. There will be WTD signs and someone from GDS to sign you in and escort you to the event.

- This event takes place in a government office. You must show a valid photo ID to access the event and to pick up your entry badge.
- The name on your ID needs to match the name on your registration. You will be refused entry without an ID.
- Message the organisers if you need to update your name.
