Exploring Perfectionism, Courage & Vulnerability in writing

Exploring Perfectionism, Courage & Vulnerability in writing

Details

This is a cross-post, also posted in the Wholehearted Writing meetup group. This is also a repeat of the workshop held on Sat. June 21st, for those who couldn't make it before!

This will be a small setting (my personal home) and we're going to take some time to explore what it really means to be a "wholehearted writer." What that means is... we'll engage in discussion, I will have some recommended reading for you, and of course we will definitely do plenty of juicy writing!!

Our topic will begin around Brene Brown's book, The Gifts of Imperfection. I have some specific writing exercises around some of the guideposts in the book. You'll walk away with some writing done during the session, but you will also leave with exercises you can do on your own after the workshop is over.

We will dive into topics like how perfectionism creeps into our writing, how being vulnerable in writing is sometimes the only way we can express (and conversely, how writing is sometimes the very thing we avoid, and how can we consciously move through that), etc.

This will be limited seating... with a max of 10 total participants. This will allow for us having plenty of room, but also to have a genuine and open conversation. I am really looking forward to this! I hope you'll join us ;-)

PLEASE BRING:

$25 cash, check, or credit card Notebook and pen (I prefer that you bring an actual notebook vs. a laptop)

I will provide snacks.

(Unfortunately, no handicap access. I'm on the second floor and there is no elevator.)
