We’re taking creativity on the move aboard the Washington State Ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island.
This isn’t a workshop. It’s a writing date with motion, a day to drift between pages, sea air, and good coffee.
Itinerary:
☀️ 09:00ish AM — Depart Seattle Ferry Terminal (Colman Dock)
Find a window seat, open your notebook, and let the rhythm of the waves do the talking. Freewrite while the city slides away behind you.
☕ 10:45 AM — Arrive on Bainbridge + Walk to Storyville Coffee
Warm up with caffeine and a second round of writing prompts. Write from something you noticed on the ferry — a sound, a face, a line of conversation.
🌲 12:00 PM — Explore Bainbridge
Stroll through the local shops or find a quiet park bench. Observe. Gather sensory notes.
🥗 1:00 PM — Lunch at Pegasus Coffee House or Café Hitchcock
Share snippets of what you’ve written — no critique, just voices over good food.
🌊 3:30ish PM — Return Ferry to Seattle
Final writing session on the ride back: reflect, edit, or write a short scene inspired by the day.
Cost:
Ferry fare + your own food and coffee. Everything else? Free and full of potential.
