In order to help the writers in my MEETUP group, I will be giving you comments on the first 15 pages of your manuscript. Write to me at [Jan.Kardys@gmail.com](mailto:Jan.Kardys@gmail.com) and I will give you a handout on publishing rules which you will find helpful as well as a writers checklist, Traditional Publishing Overview, and a marketing plan postcard. I will ask 5 people in the group to share their comments as well. Since I have such a large group (950 members) I plan on doing ZOOM in the future, but NOT NOW. For this session, we will be working together via email. The deadline to send in your first 15 pages is August 24, 2024. After I receive the pages, I will break you into groups of 5 and share your pages with each person in your assigned group. Obviously, I will be putting you into a group with your genre, if possible. The header of the email should be: MEETUP August 24, 2024: 15 pages. INCLUDE your Genre, Title, Author name on each page. Send to [Jan.Kardys@gmail.com](mailto:Jan.Kardys@gmail.com). If you are worried about copyright, go to the US copyright office website and complete the TX Form and copyright your entire manuscript. I am NOT asking you for a book summary. Just your first 15 pages. This group is designed for writers to help writers - being kind, helpful and honest. If you don't tell a follow writer what is wrong with these opening pages, you aren't being thoughtful and generous. Tell the truth but do so in a gentle way. Find what is interesting or good about the pages.
