World Building - Case Study - Frank Herbert's "Dune"

In our next World Building meeting we will be taking a specific look at Frank Herbert's "Dune" series. While it would be suggested that participants read Dune--or at least seen one of the film adaptations--it is not prerequisite to understanding the content in the meeting.

We'll be looking at micro and macro scale world building, religions, geography, technology, science, economics and, for lack of a better term, 'magic' all within this single series. We'll also discuss why it's been so difficult to translate this series of books into film, despite the critical success of Denis Villeneuve's adaptation.
