Poetry - Droigneach

Hosted By

Details
For writers of poetry.
This month's form is Droigneach. Please bring 1 poem to share at the meeting.
The Irish Droigneach is a complex form made of quatrains with 9-13 syllable lines with an ABAB pattern, internal rhyming, and the last word of each line has three sylables. Oh and alliteration is encouraged.

❓How it works
- Write the requisite number of poems in the form for the month. (Yes, please stick to the form, creativity comes from constraints).
- Take turns screen-sharing your poem(s) while reading it aloud
- Get feedback on your pieces and provide feedback on other attendees' stories
🤔 Ways to critique:
- Synopsizing the piece to confirm it is understood as intended
- Mentioning what might be compelling or confusing
- Offering succinct suggestions for improvement
- Saying what you liked best about the piece
Please also note that anonymous attendance is not permitted. In other words, please turn your camera on so we can see one another as if we were meeting in-person.
