Do you dread networking because it feels transactional or fake? Do you feel professionally isolated, whether you are studying alone, working remotely, or navigating a tough job market? Are you looking for a way to build a support system that actually helps you build skills without draining your energy?

Then you don't want to miss this month's WTD ATX meetup! We’ll be discussing how to replace "solo grit" with a genuine support network. Drawing from years of experience as a WTD member and organizer, Caley Burton will share a practical blueprint for turning passive contacts into active allies. This session is designed for everyone—from students and entry-level writers to industry veterans—focusing on mutual mentorship and sustainable connection. If you’ve never attended a WTD ATX event, this a great first event to attend!

Registration link: If you intend on coming, you need to register via Verkada. This is specific to gaining entrance to the Cloudflare office.

This month’s event is sponsored by Cloudflare Austin. They’re opening the first floor kitchen and social area for us to meet and learn from each other–and they’re providing snacks and drinks. Don’t forget to ask them about their job opportunities! Also, if you know a student who would make a great intern, tell them about Cloudflare’s tenacious goal to hire 1,111 interns in 2026.

What you can expect at the event

  • Arrive, check-in at the front desk, get some food, meet some doc enthusiasts: 5:00pm-5:30pm
  • Presentation and discussion: 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Chat and socialize: 6:30-7:00pm

Come and go as you please–this is a free-form, easygoing meetup!

Logistics: The Cloudflare office has a pay-to-park garage and has tons of street parking (some free, some not).

Address:
Cloudflare
405 Comal St.
Austin, TX 78702

How can you find us when you get there?

  • If you pay to park in the garage, take the elevator to the first floor. Check in at the front desk with the Verkada QR code sent to you when you registered. Then come on through to the kitchen and social area! Note: If you choose to pay to park in the garage, you do so as your own expense.
  • If you park on the street, enter the building via the Comal St. entrance. Check in at the front desk using the Verkada QR code sent to you when you registered. Then come on through to the kitchen and social area!
