Writing From Your Inner Mystic

Details
Join us for a Zoom gathering of fellow Mystics: people whose spirituality entails direct experience of a deeper reality which might be considered God, Spirit, the Universe, etc. which is not affiliated with any particular religion.
Most Mystics have been disenfranchised in modern-day society, since mystical experience is marginalized in the mainstream media and often characterized as weird, woo-woo or even crazy. Yet direct spiritual phenomena of invisible help, unexplainable inner knowing, bliss, connectedness with a greater reality, connectedness with others alive or otherwise, deep love and even miracles (or unexplained synchronicities) are common occurrences for many individuals, most of whom tend to keep these experiences to themselves. While the voice of the Mystic was highly valued in traditional cultures, it is minimized and even ridiculed in ours.
As a psychotherapist who specializes in working with highly sensitive people, I am keenly aware of the struggles of the Mystics among us, myself included.
One of ways we can own our Mystical nature is to claim it, rise up against prejudice and fear, and tell our story.
I created this group as a vehicle for camaraderie and self-expression for Mystics of all ages and backgrounds, as well as an opportunity to express the voice of my own inner Mystic.
Some people may use the group strictly for their own self-work. Others may be writing a book, blog or articles. Some may be seasoned writers; others may have no writing background. All are welcome!
The structure of the group will be:
Brief introductions
- A suggested but not mandatory theme to write on
- A brief guided visualization and meditation to prepare for writing
- Silent inspired writing
- Sharing of writing or insights gained from the exercise
- Sacred closing
I plan to schedule these sessions every other Monday at 6:00 pm Mountain Time on Zoom. For the most part, I will facilitate. There is no charge.
My suggested group parameters are:
Confidentiality among group members when others share.
Fairness in sharing time with others when speaking up; the
facilitator will let members know when their sharing time is up
if necessary.
Speaking in the group is totally optional. Shyness and introversion
are understood here.
Kindness and acceptance of all perspectives at all times.
Feedback after sharing can be requested or not. Feedback, if asked for,
will be supportive.
While a theme will be offered for each session, you can choose to
write on that theme or not. However, it is requested that you do some kind of writing during that segment of the group.
This group is not therapy. It for support and sharing. I am a licensed mental health counselor in New Mexico and Massachusetts. I can provide life coaching for those in other states. Those who wish to do private sessions can let me know privately, and I will make the time if I am able. You can learn about my private sessions at www.rosemaryeads.com and can contact me through the website.
Preparing for the group:
Please try to be situated in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. Practice self-care which might include a comfy blanket, a glass of water, a supportive chair or even a snack.
Bring a computer or writing materials.
If you would like to introduce yourself on this Meetup page, we'd love to hear from you!
See you soon!
