#### CITIZEN KANE. CHINATOWN. BARBIE. What do these movies all have in common? They all started with a script!

In this 7-week course, students will learn the basics of feature film screenwriting and embark on writing the first draft of their own movie script. Students can expect to leave the course with AT LEAST the first act of their screenplay (in other words, the first 30 minutes of the movie), and a script outline to complete the rest. If you have the ambition to finish a 90+ page industry-standard draft in only 7 weeks — go for it! We got you.
Students will be guided into the world of screenwriting by a working screenwriter, learning how to structure and plot their scripts. Next, they will jump into writing a screenplay, workshopping their progress every week in class until the first act (at least!) is complete.
Be prepared to submit 1-2 movie ideas before the course begins. All experience levels are welcome.

TESTIMONIALS:
Will and his course were both fantastic. Will is really friendly, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable, and generous with his knowledge. A lot of screenwriting/TV writing courses are written by people who never successfully worked in the industry and Will’s experience as a working screenwriter was invaluable. I was so impressed by how quickly he was able to help us sculpt our pilots from our lumpy clay ideas that we brought into week 1 of the class. Would absolutely recommend to anyone! -Reader Student-
