Mindset has become a buzzword. Everyone seems to be talking about the power of changing your mindset, but it’s not always clear what that means or why it’s something you’d want to do. During this lightning talk, you’ll learn a definition of mindset that you can actually understand and use. We’ll look at what a mindset is, where it comes from, & how it impacts the possibilities you imagine for yourself and the world. We’ll also talk about 3 common mindset traps and how to avoid them so that we can create the future we want to live in.

Tatiana Morillas, Sr. Director of Engineering, The Workshop
Tatiana started her career as a Software Engineer and rapidly transitioned to a leadership professional path. She brings 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams and engineering managers, supporting growth, learning, and transformation across the organization. Highlights include leading diverse teams through change and creating positive challenges with a focus on continuous improvement.

Rosa Castillo, Data Scientist ML Engineer, PhD Computer Science, Fortris
Dr. A. Rosa Castillo got her PhD in Computer Science and worked many years as Software Engineer. Since 2018 she moved towards Data Science, first as an AI Engineer and now as a Data Scientist. She is a mentor of DeepLearning.AI in the Deep Learning and Machine Learning Specializations. Besides, she is a WomenTechmaker Ambassador and an active member of different tech communities giving talks, promoting diversity and organizing events as well.

Elaina Martinelli, Head of learning & coach
Elaina is an ICF-Certified Coach & Nonconformist Mindset Educator who spent over 20 years working in the technology sector in both individual contributor and leadership roles. Highlights include leading the Learning & Organizational Development team at a mid-sized software company and serving as a User Experience Research & Design expert at Microsoft and Amazon.

Katy Peichert, People Director
Katy graduated from psychology and business, and brings 12+ years of extensive tech, talent, and leadership experience. She specializes in working strategically with the business and leading People & Talent teams in engineering & product, growing start-ups, and scale-ups to mid-size, pre-IPO stage companies. Previously, Katy was leading a global Talent Team for BRYTER & The Workshop and acted as a Senior Recruiting Partner for Technology in music tech companies like SoundCloud and Native Instruments, as well as gaming companies like Wooga.
