Writing tests for your code can be intimidating, repetitive, and frankly quite boring. I never quite understood the benefit of writing tests, as they never seemed to do much but take up time. At least, that’s how I felt before being introduced to test driven development (TDD). Now I’m not sure that I could function in my day-to-day job without writing tests.

For this meetup, I’m going to go over how I use TDD to add a new feature to an Elixir and Phoenix application. Don't worry if you don't know the language, that's not required to get the concept! We’ll start with a feature test that runs in a browser, write unit tests for parts of the system, and discuss the how and why of each part of the system. If there’s time, we’ll look at how we run our tests using continuous integration services that test and deploy our code.
