Tirthan Valley

Details
Tirthan Valley gets its name from the Tirthan River, a cold, perennial glacial water body in the mountain state of Himachal Pradesh. The river winds along the way to the Great Himalayan National Park where an occasional trekker does spot the elusive tragopan – state bird of Himachal Pradesh, among other threatened species including the Himalayan black bear and the critically endangered red-headed vulture. All in all, it is a trekker’s paradise. So, sign up to be a WWF-Explorer! And come with us as we discover the hidden charms of the river and the lofty mountainscapes!
