Love salmon? Love the water? Join us on Saturday, May 10, 2025, as a volunteer at our Paddle the Slough Flotilla in Chilliwack! This feel-good, fish-friendly event kicks off our 8th Annual Paddle the Slough Challenge and brings together paddlers of all levels to explore the beautiful Hope Slough.
π Location: 1st Fairfield Scout Hall β 47130 Hope River Rd, Chilliwack, BC
π Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM to help set up, the event runs from 10:00 AM until about 2:00 PM. Packing up will take about 30 minutes. (Roughly 2:30 PM)
π¬ What you'll be doing:
β Helping with set-up and participant check-in
β Greeting paddlers and directing folks to parking or launch areas
β Ensuring participants have proper safety gear before launching.
β Support Watershed Watch staff at our engagement table.
- Join the paddle πΆ (We'll hold spaces in our canoes or let us know if you would prefer to bring your own canoe/kayak/SUP).
β Enjoying the energy of a community coming together for salmon and clean water!

β A delicious BBQ lunch (veg options available!)
β Spending the day outdoors and on the water π§
β Volunteer hours (if needed)
β A chance to be part of a cherished local event and meet awesome people!

What to bring:
β Reusable water bottle + plate (weβre aiming for zero waste!)
β Weather-appropriate clothing.
β Your community spirit and a smile!
π Parking
β Park at the Scouts Hall to check in at 9 am. We might ask to shuffle vehicles down the street before guests start to arrive.
