Adopt-a-Trail Monitoring and Storm Drain Marking at the Coquitlam River!

Details
Join us in caring for the Coquitlam River and the wild salmon that depend on it!
As part of Orca Action Month, we are excited to add a special storm drain marking activity to our typical litter cleanup event. Each week, Watershed Watch staff meet with volunteers at the north end of Gabriola Drive for a one-hour trail walk where we remove graffiti, pick up litter, and report any concerns, like fallen trees or signs of pollution, to the City. On this day, if weather permits, we will also mark storm drains to help protect salmon, which in turn supports the orcas that rely on them as a vital food source.
No experience needed and all supplies are provided. This is a hands-on way to be a good steward for the river, the watershed, and the salmon that call it home.
🌧️ Rain or shine—we’ll be out there on the trail! However, we will only proceed with storm drain marking if weather permits.
🚇 Need a lift? Pickup from Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain Station at 8:45 AM can be arranged. Email meghan@watershedwatch.ca

Running late? We will head down the trail a few minutes after 9 am. Give Meghan a call at 604 762 5608 to meet up if you are running late. We'll be wearing a hi-vis vest and should be easy to spot!
