We’re continuing to keep pressure on the province to raise industrial water rental rates and reinvest in watersheds, but we need your help.
Since last year, over 1,000 letters have been sent to key decision-makers at the province.
Now we need to keep that momentum going. Can you help us by leaving a message with your MLA’s office?
We’ve partnered with the Watershed Security Coalition to set up a calling party where we’ll call together.
The calling party is about 30 minutes:
- We’ll walk through the key points about industrial water rates
- Everyone mutes to make their call at the same time
- Then we reconvene briefly before wrapping up
Why this matters
We now know that some fracking companies are using loopholes to access billions of litres of BC’s freshwater FOR FREE, and permanently contaminating it with toxic chemicals in the process.
Even when companies do pay, BC’s industrial water rates are among the lowest in the country.
Our water is a shared public resource, not a free giveaway to polluting industries.
Every message made helps reinforce that message.
