Details

Kundalini is a dormant spiritual energy believed to reside at the base of the spine, often symbolized as a coiled serpent. When awakened through meditation, breathwork, or spiritual practices like Sahaja Yoga, it rises through the central energy channel (Sushumna Nadi) and activates the seven main chakras—energy centers aligned along the spine and up to the crown of the head.

Each chakra governs specific aspects of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. For instance, the Muladhara (root chakra) relates to stability and security, while the Sahasrara (crown chakra) connects us to higher consciousness. As Kundalini ascends and activates each chakra, it brings balance, clarity, and vitality to corresponding areas of life.

Sahaja Yoga, founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, offers a simple and natural method to awaken this energy spontaneously (sahaja means "spontaneous" or "born with"). Practitioners experience a state of mental silence or “thoughtless awareness,” which helps reduce stress, improve focus, and cultivate inner peace.

The benefits of awakening the Kundalini through Sahaja Yoga include emotional resilience, improved health, heightened intuition, and a deeper sense of connection with oneself and the universe. It’s a practical path for spiritual growth, accessible to people of all backgrounds.
