The Presidency of the Council of the European Union rotates among the Member States of the EU every six months. On 1 July 2026, Ireland assumed the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the eighth time since its accession to the Union in 1973.

To mark the Irish Presidency an Opening Concert (Réaltbhuíonta | Constellations) -An Evening of Contemporary Traditional Irish Music is being held at Studio 4 at Flagey, Brussels at 20.00

As a precursor to the Concert, the Irish in Europe are organising a social drink before the concert at 6pm at the L'Amère à Boire, about 4 minutes around the corner from Flagey Studio 4.
Attendees to the Concert and those that do not have concert tickets are most welcome to attend the Social Drink and get together,.
Many of the concert attendees will know other venues in the area, however some are already booked out or are far too busy or have the capacity to host an additional group.
