Gurez Valley is an epitome of a beautiful serene mountainous valley spread across the river banks. It has all of the attributes for a person to fall in love with the place. Gurez is situated at an altitude of 8000ft above the sea-level, surrounded by the snow clad high Himalayas and the KishanGanga (Neelum in Pakistan) river flows through the valley. Gurez valley was the part of ancient Dardistan, stretching from Sharda Peeth (P.A.K) in the west, Minimarg in the north, Drass the east, and Bagtore-Kanzalwan in the south. The Gurez Valley falls along the section of the ancient Silk Route, which connected the Kashmir Valley with Gilgit.
BROAD ITINERARY (subject to minor refinements)
Day 1: Del--Srinagar flight & drive to Gurez (app 6 Hours) along the banks of Wular Lake via the Razdan Pass. Overnight Stay at Dawar in Gurez.
Days 2 &3 : Gurez Local Sightseeing. Visit the Villages of Tulail valley and Shiekhpora, the beautiful Habba Khatoon Peak & the Himalayan spring. Just hang around & soak the beauty & ambience of the Place...o/n Gurez
Day 4: Early Morning Departure from Gurez towards Chandigam via the Razdan Pass (5.5 hrs drive + time at Wular lake enroute)). Overnight Stay in Chandigam. In the Lolab Valley. Visit the amazing Kalaroos Cave Monument & sunset @ Satbaran .
Day 5 : Visit the virgin, bangus valley at an altitude of 10000 feet. It has the most awesome views for those who dare the one hour hike to get there !. Stay at Reshwari
Day 6 : Reshwari to Gulmarg ( 2 hrs)…o/n
Day 7: @ Gulmarg
Day 8: drive back to Srinagar (1.2 hrs), local sight seeing, some shopping time/shikara ride on Nageen lake. O/N stay in a Houseboat.
Day 9: Srinagar...Doodhpathri (2 hrs)...Airport take Return Flight to Delhi
