Women of Colour: racially minoritised women/women from marginalised ethnic backgrounds

Facilitated by a qualified psychotherapist/counsellor – limited spaces

Therapeutic group space for individuals seeking to understand the relationship between their external manifested and internal worlds, and those seeking to heal or who are on a journey of self discovery.

The sessions facilitate exploration of Self using modern psychological approaches taking account of universal spiritual principles, ancient wisdom, culturally influenced therapeutic approaches alongside western thought.

Participants will deepen their understanding of self, patterns of behaviour and experiences that influence and shape their nervous system, as well as learn a range of tools and strategies for its effective management.

We recognise that our conscious reality is created from the inside out. That what goes on externally in our realities is a metaphor for what is going on within us internally and take the steps that enable us to move from being a passive participant to active creator in the design of our lives as we reconnect with ourselves authentically.

Benefits of group spaces
We are relational beings and most adversity and wounding occurs within relationship. It therefore makes sense that the most profound and effective healing also takes place within relationship. The Healing Rooms facilitates this with a range of groups spaces allowing women to connect, share, learn, grow and heal. Group spaces can provide the following benefits:

  1. Learn to use your voice and become visible in the containment of the group space
  2. Learning to connect more deeply to yourself – as other people share in the group, you may find that you identify with what they are saying, or that someone is able to put into words something that you are feeling
  3. Take risks to share yourself – group therapy provides an environment where you can take risks in learning to be with different aspects of yourself and then sharing it with other individuals
  4. Learn about boundaries as you interact with others understanding where these might need to be relaxed or tightened
  5. Challenge your need for approval from others – with each interaction in the group providing an opportunity for you to pick authenticity or approval
  6. Learn/practice new ways of expressing yourself and relate to others in healthier ways
  7. Source of support
  8. Reduce isolation
  9. Develop empathy
  10. Step outside of your comfort zone
