Do you like reading and want to meet up to discuss books? Would you like to discover more LGBTQ+ books & authors? Then why not join our Book Club? This social evening will give you the opportunity to meet other book lovers and discuss what you liked, or disliked, about our book of the month.
West London Queer Project is a LGBTQ+ group that has been hosting events and activities for the local LGBTQ+ community for over three years. Please note that a lot of our regular members don’t use Meet Up, so the numbers of people attending our events will be substantially bigger than the amount you will see here as registered to attend.
We will meet at Room 2 in Chiswick, and food and drinks are available to purchase.
We suggest that everyone who would like to join our Book Club on this date acquires the book (either electronic or physical, whichever you prefer), and comes prepared to talk about it. Even if you started reading but didn’t finish, you are still welcome to join, but please be aware that discussions can cover all aspects of the book, including the ending.
About the book:
Set in an alternative Edwardian England, this is a comedy of manners, manor houses, and hedge mazes – a magic-infused murder mystery and a delightful queer romance. Perfect for fans of Bridgerton who'd like to welcome magic into their lives . . .
‘This book is a confection, both marvellous and light’ – Alix E. Harrow, author of The Ten Thousand Doors of January
Young baronet Robin Blyth thought he was taking up a minor governmental post. However, he has actually been appointed parliamentary liaison to a secret magical society. If it weren’t for this administrative error, he’d never have discovered the incredible magic underlying his world.
Cursed by mysterious attackers and plagued by visions, Robin becomes determined to drag answers from his missing predecessor – but he’ll need the help of Edwin Courcey, his hostile magical-society counterpart. Unwillingly thrown together, Robin and Edwin will discover a plot that threatens every magician in the British Isles.
