Volunteer at an Organic Farm in Arvada

This meetup will take place at Grow Girl Organics farm behind a church at 12229 W 80th Ave, Unit B, Arvada. Please read the whole description prior to submitting your RSVP.

This seemed like the best way to organize our first in-person event (at least first in a long while). Typically the volunteer work needed at the farm is weeding.

It is recommended that you wear plenty of sun protection in the form of sunscreen, perhaps long sleeves, a good hat, sunglasses, and if you have a decent pair of gardening gloves, bring those too. Wear shoes that can withstand some dirt. Also bring water.

It tends to be a bit windy out here because it is at the top of a hill with little windbreak.

The farm stand will be open while we are there so you are welcome to shop it as well when we are done. Typically if you come to the farm stand you could bring your friendly dog(s) but best not to while volunteering.

Depending on how hot it is, we may weed for an hour or up to 90 minutes.

If we have a small enough group I can offer some insight on the types of weeds we encounter. There is also a crevice-pollinator garden I helped to design out here that we can see.
