What we’re about
Unifying practitioners across the continent to operationalize, deploy, and scale AI at production scale.
Why This Group Is Needed
1.No continent‑wide forum for AI‑Ops best practices
Local chapters exist (Cape Town, Lagos), but they’re siloed. A pan‑African group would let engineers from Nigeria, Kenya, Congo, South Africa, and beyond share pipelines, tooling, and lessons learned.
2.Bridges DevOps and ML communities
While there are Cloud‑Native and AI meetups, few focus on the intersection—CI/CD for models, Kubernetes at scale, GPU orchestration, monitoring, and governance.
3.Addresses unique African infra constraints
Topics like on‑prem vs. edge GPU deployments, spot/preemptible instance strategies for cost‑savings, intermittent connectivity workarounds, and hybrid on‑cloud/off‑cloud architectures are seldom covered in global meetups.
4.Amplifies home‑grown tooling and open‑source
Encourages showcasing African‑built MLOps frameworks, data‑locality solutions, and contributions to projects like Kubeflow, MLflow, or Feast, tailored for African realities.
