11am start time: Out-of-town hike at Strathcona Wilderness Centre

Strathcona Wilderness Centre is situated on 550 acres of parkland next to the beautiful shores of Bennett Lake. SWC offers lots of trails through woodland, meadows, and lakeshore terrain. See their website for further info, directions to get there, and their trail map.

We will be hiking at a *MODERATE* pace for about 2.5 hours (~9-10km) with a 20-minute lunch break at the 5km mark. The outer loop is ~7.5km to the parking lot then for those who want to continue, we can go on some inner trails for an extra 2km.

FYIs:

• Please note that this out-of-town hike will be weather dependent.
• On-leash dogs will be permitted on SWC trails from Jul 1 to Oct 13.
• Items to bring: water, lunch &/or snacks, appropriate walking footwear and clothing, bug spray, and sunscreen.
• Optional items to bring: camera, bear horn / spray.
