Walk: Dawson Park to Walterdale Bridge Loop

About this walk: 10km, 2 hours of walking time

We will head west along the north side of the River Valley through the neighbourhood of Riverdale then through the following parks: Louise McKinney Riverfront, Rossdale, Irene Parlby as far as the Walterdale Bridge where we will cross the river to the south side. We will then continue through Queen Elizabeth Park, Nellie McClung Park, and Henrietta Muir Edwards Park and cross over the Tawatinâ Bridge to return to the north side of the river back to Dawson Park.

Just to let you know that there are a few hills on this walk and will be on mostly paved paths but a small section on a dirt path (snowy and potentially icy this time of the year).

Dawson Park parking lot is located at 10298 - 89th Street.

• Take Rowland Road to 89th Street, turn NORTH and continue as far as you can to parking lot.

**Please note:

• This walk will be at a medium pace at minimum with only a few stops along the way.
• * Remember that if you can’t attend, please update your RSVP so we can do a headcount at the event.
• Optional: After you’re welcome to join us for a bite to eat - place TBD but probably Birch & Bear Pizza at 8210 106 Ave & next door is The Colombian cafe as well.
• *We are requesting a voluntary donation of $2 per event, or our suggested annual donation of $20. You can give the money to us and we’ll pass it along to our administrator who pays our group fee on Meetup. Thanks in advance.

Where are we meeting?

• The info is in the event location. When we arrive at the parking lot, the “real time” location will be shared via Google Maps in the comments in case you’re running late.

What should I wear?

• Please wear / bring layers so you can take something off or put on, if need be. *In winter, please bring ice grips!

Can I bring my dog?

• **Dogs are very welcome on our in-town events but please note that there are "on leash" and "off leash" sections of these trails, so please be aware of these and adhere to the City's regulations.**

Do I need to sign my dog up as a guest?

• No need - guests mean humans
